The UTL1040S is a single-channel programmable DC electronic load rated 400 W, 0–150 V, 0–30 A. It runs four constant modes — CC, CV, CR, CP — plus eleven additional test modes (dynamic, OVP, OCP, time, CR-LED, battery, automatic list, short-circuit, load-effect, combination, and list) for 15 modes total. It is positioned as the high-resolution model of the UTL1000 load line.
Synchronous sampling reaches 500 kHz with DSP processing and a self-adaptive voltage/current waveform display on a 4.3-inch TFT LCD, giving high-resolution readback (current to 0.01 mA, voltage to 0.01 mV). Dynamic mode pulls load at up to 50 kHz with a programmable 0.0006–3 A/µs rise/fall slope, so voltage and current peaks (Vpp/Ipp) are observed directly, and on-screen ripple readout plus a live V/I waveform view remove the need for an external oscilloscope. Battery test records charge and discharge curves, and an automatic list test runs up to 200-step multi-mode sequences for repeatable production test. A rear-panel Sense terminal provides remote voltage compensation against lead drop, and OVP/OCP/OPP/OTP and short-circuit protections are built in.
Remote control is provided over RS-232 with a HANDLER interface for ATE integration and a USB Host port for data logging, screenshots, and list import/export, using the SCPI command set. It suits power-supply and converter validation, battery and LED-driver characterization, and automated production test. Backed by a 3-year standard warranty with a 2-year extension.
