The UT505B is the wider-range model in the UT505 pair: a CAT IV 600 V insulation resistance tester and True-RMS digital multimeter in one handheld, reading insulation resistance up to 200 GΩ at test voltages from 50 V to 1000 V to IEC 61557.
Insulation testing covers 0.01 MΩ to 200 GΩ with Polarization Index and DAR diagnostics, stepped-voltage testing, and automatic discharge, and it adds an automatic fuse check that verifies the current-input fuse before a reading is taken. As a 6000-count multimeter it measures AC/DC voltage and resistance, capacitance from 100 pF to 500 µF, frequency, and low resistance from 0.01 Ω to 20 kΩ, with True-RMS sensing and storage for 99 groups.
It suits electrical maintenance, motor and cable testing, and troubleshooting on higher-resistance insulation.
