The UT505A combines a CAT IV 600 V insulation resistance tester and a True-RMS digital multimeter in a single handheld, so the tool that confirms a winding is open is the same one that checks its insulation.
It tests insulation resistance from 0.01 MΩ to 20 GΩ at selectable voltages of 50 V, 100 V, 250 V, 500 V, and 1000 V to IEC 61557, with Polarization Index and DAR diagnostics, stepped-voltage testing, and automatic discharge. As a 6000-count multimeter it measures AC/DC voltage and resistance, capacitance from 100 pF to 500 µF, frequency, and low resistance from 0.01 Ω to 20 kΩ. True-RMS sensing and storage for 99 groups round out the set.
It suits electrical maintenance, motor and cable testing, and general troubleshooting where insulation and standard measurements are both needed.
