Torque Video Systems specializes in the management and monitoring of broadcast quality of service, providing cost-effective solutions and versatile applications to digital television networks and video transmission operators worldwide. Torque’s products and solutions enable operators to evaluate and monitor their network architecture, present valuable insight into viewer experience, and help to reduce OPEX.
The DVMon is an economical monitoring platform for digital television networks. Built on the latest compact 1RU hardware, the DVMon raises the bar in user experience through its distinct, flexible HTML5 GUI. Running on any standards-compliant web browser, it allows opening of any number of windows in any size. The DVMon also facilitates opening multiple viewing panels within each window, and eases zooming in or out on any chart axis.
The ECP is designed to monitor and test video quality of experience. This affordable, compact, palm-sized monitoring probe monitors true customer viewing experience by providing measurements from the end users’ point of view, after the STB. Scanning through available channels or navigating through interactive content menus via an external IR blaster, the ECP provides a single dashboard highlighting service quality across all channels.
It features a modern open architecture API, making it easy to integrate measurements and alarms into any third party system. This flexibility means that the ECP is not only an indispensable tool for monitoring broadcast content, it is an important tool in automating testing in R&D and system QA applications. It epitomizes the ideal solution to measure the end-to-end process in a television delivery chain. It is available in four models, each with different inputs: HDMI, Composite, DVI and VGA.
The Pelican transcode platform provides mass decode-encode functionality for H.264/AVC and H.265/HEVC, for live IP transcode (UDP/RTP/HTTP) and file-based transcode workflows. A complete appliance, Pelican can lead to immediate cost-performance benefits in a number of user cases.
By deploying Pelican at sporting events, concerts or other live production venues, the high cost of contribution links can be lowered by encoding with high-quality HEVC before sending to the studio.
Furthermore, publishing OTT content needs vast quantities of software-based encoders, as each OTT content must be encoded into multiple bitrates within a “ladder”. Pelican’s unique hardware acceleration for decode and encode enables dramatic cutbacks in the number of servers. With that, of course, is a reduction in the heat generated, the energy used, and much simpler systems management.
Additionally, Pelican’s multi-channel overlay feature facilitates superimposing custom graphics, text or RSS feeds onto live content. This is done in the compressed domain, leading to significant cost savings compared to traditional baseband graphics generators.
The Pelican system also presents an easy-to-use web-based GUI for direct control, along with a straightforward REST API for integration into other control systems.
